Hardware Component
Hardware components are physical parts of a computer system that contribute to its operation. Here's an overview of some key hardware components:
1.Central Processing Unit (CPU):
- It is called "brain" of the computer.
- Executes instructions and performs calculations.
- Typically consists of one or more processing cores.
2.Memory (RAM):
- A Temporary storage used to hold instructions that the CPU needs to access it fastly.
- Stores actively used data and program instructions.
- It's Contents are erased when the computer is shutdown.
3.Storage Devices:
- Hard Disk Drive (HDD): Stores data magnetically on spinning disks.
- Solid-State Drive (SSD): Uses flash memory to store data, offering faster read/write speeds and better durability compared to HDDs.
- External Storage: Includes USB drives, external HDDs, and SSDs for portable storage.
4.Motherboard:
- It is the Main circuit board which are connected and integrated all the various hardware components.
- Contains CPU socket, memory slots, expansion slots, and connectors for peripherals.
- Provides pathways for data transfer between components.
5.Power Supply Unit (PSU):
- It is used to Converts AC power from the wall outlet into DC power for the computer components.
- Supplies power to the motherboard, CPU, drives, and other peripherals.
6.Graphics Processing Unit (GPU):
- Specialized processor designed to render graphics and images.
- Used in gaming PCs, workstations, and systems requiring graphical processing power.
- Some CPUs have integrated graphics, while others use discrete GPUs.
7.Input Devices:
- Keyboard: Input device for typing text and commands.
- Mouse: Pointing device for moving a cursor and selecting items on the screen.
- Touchpad: Commonly found on laptops, used for navigation and gestures.
- Touchscreen: Displays that allow direct interaction using touch gestures.
8.Output Devices:
- Monitor: Display device for outputting visual information.
- Printer: Device for producing hard copies of digital documents and images.
- Speakers: Output audio for sound playback.
9.Expansion Cards:
- Additional circuit boards are inserted into expansion slots on the motherboard to add it functionality.
- Examples include graphics cards, sound cards, network interface cards (NICs), and USB expansion cards.
10.Cooling System:
- Fans, heat sinks, and liquid cooling systems used to dissipate heat generated by the CPU, GPU, and other components.
- Prevents overheating and maintains optimal operating temperatures.
